Before you buy
- Real teak (sagwan) is Tectona grandis. “African teak” is also used for Iroko, a different wood, so get the species written on the bill.
- A country name like Ghana or Tanzania tells you where the wood came from, not its grade. Judge the heartwood, usable size, defects and moisture.
- Time on a ship is not seasoning. Ask for current moisture readings before the wood is machined.

Chaukhat for this door
A door hangs on a chaukhat (door frame), which is a separate item. A single rebate has one step for the door to close against. A double rebate has two steps, so a main door and a jali door can hang on the same chaukhat. If you are not sure which you need, tell us how the doorway will be used and we will suggest one.

- Your area in Lucknow, for delivery.

Questions about this door
Does the price include the chaukhat?
No. The chaukhat (door frame) is a separate item; the chaukhat prices are on this page. Say in your order whether you need the door, the chaukhat or both.
Is the price for one leaf or both?
For both. Double door prices are for the full set of two leaves.
What does 3.75 CFT mean?
It is the amount of wood in the door, in cubic feet, not its height and width. The 7 × 3 ft door uses 3.75 CFT of wood and the 8 × 5 ft door uses 7.5 CFT.
Is 3.5 ft the same as 3 ft 5 inches?
No. 3.5 ft is 3 ft 6 inches, because a foot has 12 inches. In the same way, 4.5 ft is 4 ft 6 inches.
Are imported teak and African teak the same?
No. Imported teak can come from several regions. “African teak” is a loose trade name, so check whether the wood is Tectona grandis or another species.
My size is not listed. What do I do?
Send us the height and width with units, and a photo, on WhatsApp. We make other sizes to order and give you the price.
I am keeping my old chaukhat. What do you need?
A photo of the full frame, close-ups of its bottom corners, the inside height and width with units, and whether it has a single or a double rebate. Your mistri should confirm the door size that suits the frame.
Polished or unpolished?
Both. Many customers take unpolished doors and get them polished with the rest of the house. Tell us what you want when you order.
Will my door look exactly like the photo?
Photos show the design and the type of wood. Every piece of wood has its own grain and colour, so yours will not be an exact copy. Ask us for current photos and confirm the design, wood and polish before ordering.
