In short
- We collect only what we need to answer your enquiry, prepare a quotation and complete your order, delivery and installation: for example your name, phone, email, address, measurements, order and payment records.
- We do not share your personal details with carpenters. Delivery and installation teams get only what they need for the job, and not for their own marketing.
- We never use photos of your home or site on our website, social media or ads. We may show photos and videos of our products.
- Our website uses a cookie to keep your session secure and browser storage to remember your bag and motion setting. If we ever add optional analytics or advertising cookies, they stay off until you agree.
- Right now the website takes no online payments, and we send no promotional emails, SMS or WhatsApp messages.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, withdraw consent or stop promotional messages. Some records may have to be kept by law, for example for accounts or tax.
- Privacy questions: call +91 92358 06346 or email support@nordwood.in.
NordWood respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and share your personal information when you browse nordwood.in, contact us, ask for a quotation, buy our products, or arrange delivery and installation (fitting).
In this policy, “NordWood”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Nordwood Private Limited, 500/143, Kutubpur, Daliganj, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India.
01Information we collect
What we need depends on how you contact NordWood and what you ask us to do. To answer your request or complete your order, we may collect:
- Contact details: your name, phone number and email address.
- Account and security details: the details used to create and sign in to your account. Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes (a scrambled form that cannot be turned back into your password). We keep session and security records to protect accounts and stop misuse.
- Project details: the products you are interested in, measurements, quantities, design needs and anything else you tell us when asking for a quotation.
- Order details: the products you choose, the specifications you approve, billing details, delivery address and installation instructions.
- Business details: your business name, where these are needed for the invoice.
- Payment records: amounts paid, transaction references, payment status and the details reasonably needed to process a refund.
- Your messages with us: enquiries, letters and messages, approvals, feedback and requests for help.
We only ask for information that is relevant to the purpose we explain to you. Please do not share personal information that has nothing to do with your enquiry, or anyone else’s details without their permission.
02How information reaches us
We get information directly from you when you:
- send an enquiry or ask for a quotation through our website;
- call, email or WhatsApp us;
- share product specifications or confirm an order;
- arrange payment, delivery, installation or after-sales help.
If you allow someone else (for example, your thekedar) to handle your project with us, we may also get the relevant information from them.
Information collected through website hosting, cookies or tracking tools is covered in the sections below.
03How we use your information
We use personal information to help you with your enquiry or order, to run our business responsibly and to meet our legal duties. This includes:
- answering your questions and preparing quotations;
- confirming measurements, specifications and what your order needs;
- processing orders, matching payments to the right order, and issuing invoices;
- arranging delivery and installation;
- sending order updates and giving after-sales support;
- handling complaints, refunds and warranty requests;
- keeping necessary business records and meeting legal requirements;
- protecting our website and business from misuse and fraud.
Where your consent is needed, we will tell you what the information will be used for and get your consent. Just browsing our website or sending an enquiry does not give us permission to send you unrelated advertising or promotional messages.
Some services need certain information. If you choose not to give it, we may not be able to offer that service. We will tell you when this applies.
04Customer photos and publicity
We do not publish or use photos of customers’ sites (your home or building) on our website, social media, advertisements or promotional material.
We may publish, use and share photos, videos and information about our products on websites, on social media, and in advertising and other promotion.
Sharing your project details with us for a quotation or an order does not give NordWood permission to use those details for publicity.
05When we share information
Carpenters
We do not share customers’ personal information with carpenters (mistri). Specifications sent to them for making your order should leave out customer names, phone numbers, addresses and any other details that could identify you.
Installers and delivery partners
We share only what is reasonably needed to complete the delivery or installation you have agreed to. This may include the receiver’s name and contact number, the delivery or installation address, the relevant order details and instructions for reaching and getting into the site. They get these details only to do this job, not for their own marketing.
Technology and payment providers
If we appoint companies to support our website, enquiry forms, communications or payments, they may handle the information they need to provide those services.
Legal requirements
We may also share information when the law requires it, to respond to a valid legal request, or when reasonably needed to establish or defend legal rights.
06How we store and protect information
NordWood keeps customer records in a local database. We are responsible for keeping reasonable safeguards that suit the information we hold, including controlling who can access it and protecting the systems it is stored on.
A local database does not mean that every related communication or transaction stays on a local device. Hosting, communication or payment providers we appoint may process information on their own systems.
No system for storing or sending information can be completely secure. If a personal-data incident (such as a data leak) happens, we will take suitable action and give any notices the law requires.
07Cookies and your choices
Our website uses a cookie to keep your session secure, and browser storage to remember your bag and your motion (animation) setting.
How cookies work
Cookies are small files that a website saves in your browser. Session cookies usually last only while you are browsing. Persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them, depending on your browser settings.
Cookies may be set by our website or by outside (third-party) services built into it. What they do, who provides them and how long they last depends on the technology used.
The types below apply only when the related features or tools are switched on. Listing them here does not mean NordWood currently uses every type of cookie described.
Necessary (essential) cookies
These are needed for a service you ask for, such as keeping items in your shopping bag, keeping your session secure, handling checkout steps or remembering your cookie choices. A cookie is not counted as essential just because it is useful to our business.
Functionality (preference) cookies
These remember choices such as language or display settings, so the website stays the same for you between visits.
Analytics and performance cookies
If we add these, they help us understand how people use our website, for example which product pages they view and where technical problems happen. Depending on the tool, they may collect device identifiers, browser details, pages visited and what you do on the website.
Advertising and social media tools
If we add these, they may measure how well ads work, show personalised ads, or let social media content appear on our pages. Outside (third-party) providers may combine this information with information they already hold about you. Before we switch these on, we will name the providers and explain what they use the information for.
Choosing which cookies to allow
If we add optional cookies, we will give you controls to accept them, reject them or choose them by purpose. We will also give you cookie settings where you can change your choices or withdraw your consent. Optional analytics and advertising tools will stay switched off until you give consent. Simply continuing to browse our website does not, by itself, count as consent to optional tracking.
Withdrawing consent stops those tools from being used from then on. It does not automatically delete information already collected. You can contact us (see Contact us about privacy) to make a request about that information.
If you reject optional cookies, you can still browse the website normally. Some optional features may not work when the tools they depend on are switched off.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can also see, delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect features such as the shopping bag or checkout, and deleting cookies may remove your saved preferences.
Instructions are on your browser maker’s official help pages:
- Google Chrome: manage and delete cookies
- Microsoft Edge: manage cookies
- Mozilla Firefox: clear cookies and site data
- Apple Safari: remove cookies and website data
For other browsers, check the browser maker’s official help pages. Browser cookie settings may not switch off every other kind of tracking.
Changes to how we use cookies
We may update this cookie section when our website features, providers or cookie practices change. The new version will show an updated date. If a new purpose needs your consent, we will ask for it before using that technology. Updating this policy does not by itself mean you have given consent.
08Online payments
At present our website only takes order requests. It does not collect online payments.
If we start taking online payments, the checkout page will clearly name the payment service used. Before we switch payments on, we will explain which payment information the payment gateway collects and which information NordWood receives or keeps.
09Promotional messages
We do not send promotional emails, SMS or WhatsApp messages at present.
If we start sending promotional emails, SMS or WhatsApp messages, we will explain the purpose and get any consent the law requires.
You can say no to promotional messages, or ask us to stop sending them, by contacting us (see Contact us about privacy). This will not stop the necessary updates about an enquiry, order, delivery or support request you already have with us.
10How long we keep information
We have not set a fixed time limit or review schedule for keeping enquiries, customer orders, invoices or technical records.
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose we told you about, and for any legal requirement that applies.
How long depends on things like whether an enquiry is still open, an order is not yet complete, after-sales support is needed, or records must be kept for accounts, tax or settling a dispute.
When we no longer need the information and no law requires us to keep it, we will delete it or change it so that it can no longer identify you.
11Your choices and privacy requests
You can contact us to ask for:
- an explanation of how we handle your personal information;
- access to the information we hold about you, or a correction to it;
- deletion of information that is no longer needed;
- withdrawal of your consent, where our use of your information depends on your consent;
- an end to promotional messages;
- help with a privacy concern or complaint.
We will look at your request under the law that applies. Some records may have to be kept even if you ask us to delete them; if so, we will explain the reason.
Before we share or change personal records, we may ask for a few details to confirm who you are. Withdrawing consent does not automatically mean we must delete records that the law requires us to keep.
12Children’s information
Our buying and quotation services are meant for adults and for people authorised to act for a business.
We do not knowingly ask children for personal information. If you think a child has shared information with us, please contact us so we can check what happened and take suitable action under the law.
13Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, tools or ways of handling information change. The updated policy will show a new effective date.
If a change needs a new notice or your consent, we will give that notice or ask for consent as required. Publishing an updated policy does not automatically allow us to use information we already have for new, unrelated purposes.
